Amazon.com has excellent prices on Movado watches, and also offers free shipping. Those are obviously advantages, but there are some disadvantages too. So I’ve listed both of them below…

Advantages:

1. Lowest prices. In most cases, Amazon.com lower prices for Movado watches than any online or offline store.
2. Free shipping. Amazon normally has free “Super Saver Shipping” on these watches and sometimes had special shipping promotions as well.
3. No sales tax. Except for deliveries to Kansas, Kentucky, North Dakota or Washington.
4. 100% authentic. If you read the reviews for Movado watches at Amazon, you’ll see several people mentioning that they’ve had their purchases from Amazon verified as being authentic.
5. 5 year warranty. Amazon offers a special five year warranty on these watches. But they’re not serviced by Movado…see first disadvantage below. Note that this applies only to watches sold and shipped by Amazon.com, and not to those from third-party sellers listed on Amazon.

Disadvantages:

1. Amazon is not an “authorized dealer”. Like all other online stores, Amazon is not on Movado’s list of authorized dealers. This means that you may not be able to get it serviced directly through Movado. But Amazon makes up for this by offering a 5 year warranty through another warranty service they work with.
2. Purchasing a product you can’t touch and feel. This is true for online shopping in general, and if you’re on this site then you’re probably okay with that.
3. Waiting time for delivery. This is another one that applies to all online stores… you won’t have the item right away, but if you plan ahead properly then you can get it in time for when you need it.
4. Limited quantities. Amazon doesn’t carry a huge inventory of these watches. So there are times when the popular models are sold out.

The disadvantages apply to buying from any online store, and they’re not just for Amazon. Personally, I think the benefits (many of which are only for Amazon) outweigh the drawbacks, but each of us may place a different level of importance on the specific pros or cons and it may not be the same for you.
